Classic point-and-click adventure game Grim Fandango Remastered has made its way to Double Fine Production’s port of destination, the Android and iOS platforms, as universal apps.

The title is currently available at a reduced rate of $9.99 for the next week, when it’ll get the price bumped back up to $14.99. Grim Fandango is also on sale for the same price point on Steam and the PlayStation Store.

Grim Fandango Remastered is a reworking of the original developed by Tim Schafer, and Double Fine’s development team hasn’t changed much from the first version. The story remains, as does the character designs and puzzles making it perfect for a romp in the pleasant fields of nostalgia.

Graphically the puzzler has been updated and given a nice reworking with the addition of textures and more modern lighting. The controls have also been tweaked from the original, kicking them up a notch.

A full orchestra has been re-recorded for the game’s soundtrack.

Grim Fandango Remastered follows the four-year story of the travel agent of the dead Manny Calavera, as he seeks to uncover a conspiracy that threatens Calavera’s soul. Players will solve puzzles in the classic point-and-click style that will help Calaver through the adventure that is filled with Schafer’s whit and dark humor.

Released to Windows, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita in late Jan. 2015, Grim Fandango Remastered opened up to pre-orders just a few weeks earlier.

The puzzler was originally released by LucasArts in 1998 on Windows, with Schafer acting as the project’s lead.
