Board and Card game company Kosmos announced that it’ll be growing its award winning Exit The Game series by an additional four titles arriving in July and October.
This third wave of at-home escape room games will begin to hit store shelves in July will be Dead Man On The Orient Express and The Sunken Treasure, with The Sinister Mansion and The Mysterious Museum following in October, each sporting a $14.99 price tag. Exact release dates for the board game industry are unusual, but copies should start filtering in to brick-and-mortar stores toward the beginning of the respective months.
Each of the new Exit The Game escape rooms continues to be designed by the series original creators Inka and Marcus Brand. The two have employed the same card and wheel mechanics used in the previous games from the series. A wheel is used to check solutions, while cards are used to give puzzles, hints, and help check answers. Dead Man On The Orient Express: Someone has been murdered on The Orient Express and the culprit is still on board. Players must work quickly to capture the murderer before it’s too late.
The Sunken Treasure: Players explore the wreckage of the fabled lost ship the Santa Maria, but the vessel is about to be torn apart. Can players solve the puzzles and escape from the boat in time?
The Sinister Mansion and The Mysterious Museum: Official game descriptions haven’t been released by Kosmos.
The first wave of Exit The Game won the Kennerspiel Des Jahres award win in July of last year. As board and card game companies in the past, Komos is taking momentum from receiving the prize and capitalizing on it with large amount of additional games for the franchise.
Kosmos still has one more game from the series up its sleeve that the company hasn’t yet imported to the U.S. market, Exit: The Game – The House of Riddles. The title was part of the German third wave, but wasn’t included in the U.S. releases.
The second wave from the series was launched in Oct.2017.
