World Puzzle Federation officials announced the dates and hosting countries for its Sudoku and Puzzle Grand Prix online tournaments for 2018.
As in past Grand Prix tournaments, there will be eight online rounds with players receiving a 90-minute time period to complete puzzles and submit solutions. Players will receive points for each correct answer sent and ranked among fellow puzzlers on a leaderboard, with the two lowest scoring rounds being tossed out. The top-ten top-ten finalists from the online rounds will be invite by the World Puzzle Federation to compete in the playoffs.
The Grand Prix tournaments playoffs will be during the World Sudoku and Puzzle Championships, that are scheduled to be held from Nov. 4 – 11, 2018 at Hotel International Prague in Prague, Czech Republic.
Participation in either of the contests is free and only requires registering for an account through the Grand Prix website.
Seungjae Kwak from South Korea took first place in last year’s Sudoku GP playoff, while Japan’s Ken Endo won the Puzzle GP.
