Developer The Voxel Agents confirmed during a livestream event at Sony’s Paris Games Week, held at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles, that its next effort The Gardens Between will be coming to PlayStation 4 in Q3, 2018.
The Voxel Agents describe The Gardens Between as a “surreal puzzle adventure,” whose story follows best friends Arina and Frendt. Players will have to move back and forth through time to “discover each garden’s secrets and reveal a story about friendship, childhood and growing up.”
At the start of the video, the two friends are taking refuge from the rain in a backyard treehouse and elements from those backyard, like the treehouse itself and a clothes line, are brought into the gardens. Throughout the gardens all sorts of things can be seen including: Jenga blocks, hand saws, water pipes, video game consoles, and walkie-talkies. Suggesting that the story isn’t so much Science Fiction, but more two characters seeking an imaginary escape from their surroundings.
The Gardens Between is also heading to desktops for Windows and macOS in Q3, 2018.
