Sony revealed that the remastered edition of Team Ico’s Shadow Of The Colossus will be coming to PlayStation 4 on Feb. 6, 2018.

The announcement came during Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference, held over the Nov. 1 – 5, at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles. With an official release date came a trailer, showing off a tremendous amount of remastered material. The visuals of the forthcoming PS4 version blow the previous PS2 and PS3 editions out of the water, and understandably so. Whereas past trailers have focused on boss battles, this latest one showed off the details in every nook of the game’s environments and how they bring out its both lush and desolate world.

What’s reassuring is the tone that’s presented in the video, persevering the loneliness and isolation that Team Ico originally developed. That feeling is among the hallmarks of the Ico trilogy and seeing that it’ll be passed on is comformting.

Shadow Of The Colossus is developed by Bluepoint Games, who worked on The Ico & Shadow Of The Colossus Collection that launched for PlayStation 3. These latest developments show that the classic seems to be in good hands with Bluepoint Games.

A final price-point hasn’t yet been revealed.

Sony revealed in a surprise announcement that the classic puzzle-platformer would be coming in 2018, at this year’s past E3 conference.
