Loveshack Entertainment announced that it’ll be bringing its comic book puzzle game series Framed to desktops through Steam in “early 2018.”
The developer will be doing so via the Framed Collection, which acts as a package deal for Framed and Framed 2. Framed Collection will be available for Window, macOS, and Linux, but details on pricing haven’t yet been revealed.
Bringing the Framed series to desktops had always been on the development road map of Loveshack Entertainment since the mobile launch, but the company had never provided any insight to its plans. According to the developer, the success of the two titles on Android and iOS paved the way for the desktops.
“Thanks to our previous success we are now able to bring the collected compilation of the classic panel-switching games, along with some new, unique features to Steam,” writes Loveshack Entertainment. “[Both] games have been completely overhauled and redesigned for Steam.”
Changes to the Framed games include mouse and controller support, cloud saving, Steam achievements, and Steam trading cards.
Pricing for the Framed Collection hasn’t been announced, but desktop versions of usually run far north of their mobile counterparts. Framed and Framed 2 running from $2.99 to $4.99, so I’d guess that it’d be retailing somewhere around the double its combined amount.
Framed was originally released for mobile on Nov. 12, 2015, its prequel Framed 2 would find its way to mobile app stores June 14, 2017.
