As the puzzle adventure game Thimbleweed Park rounds out its platform release schedule, developers have hit a bump that has delayed its debut on Android.
For those puzzlers that are Android users take heart, Thimbleweed Park has been hit with a one week release delay and will hit Google Play on Oct. 10. Developer Terrible Toybox had announced a few weeks ago the final platform release schedule, but technical issues have come up at the last minute forcing them to miss their Oct. 3 mark.
“Android is always hard due to the vast array of devices,” explained Thimbleweed Park co-creator Ron Gilbert. “As we got to the end of testing, a few devices showed up with GPU issues that we felt needed to be fixed… The good news is the Android build will fully support controllers, mouse and keyboard, plus a wider range of hardware.”
It’s good to see developers taking their time to get the final product right, rather than shipping a half-baked game as some game studios have in the past. Hang tight Android users, the goods are on the way.
Thimbleweed Park is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
