Monument Valley 2 is now available through the iOS App Store, following the surprise release during the keynote for Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif.
Revealed during Apple’s iOS 11 announcement, Monument Valley 2 recreates the style and puzzle design of the original. It’s a standalone title, having players take on both roles of mother and daughter characters within the game.
“[Players] guide a mother and her child as they embark on a journey through magical architecture, discovering illusionary pathways and delightful puzzles as you learn the secrets of the Sacred Geometry,” describes developer ustwo Games.
The game is fully supported on both iPhone and all sizes of iPad, and sells for $4.99.
No word yet when Monument Valley 2 will be coming to Android or other platforms, but for big game releases Apple will typically enjoy a three month exclusive. Considering the platform penetration that the original received, it’s only a matter of time until we see the sequel spread.
The original Monument Valley was released in 2014 and went on to receive Apple’s iOS Game of the Year award.
